At that time, the humans could not stop Thysdyr. They had no choice but to flee. They waited until he disappeared again and then returned to rebuild their homes. The villagers relived this nightmare every year until one year at this time a strangely dressed traveler came to visit, although he knew that the terrible beast would attack.
That night, as Thysdyr’s furious roar came closer and closer, the traveler sat in the deserted place and waited quietly …
The next day, the villagers returned to find their houses untouched. Surprised, they asked the traveler what had happened. It turned out that Thysdyr feared flames catalyzed by runes. This astonishing news quickly reached the nearby villages. From then on, the Frost Moon Beast had no choice but to hide in the darkness whenever it awoke from its sleep. But every year, when the cold season begins, people light a huge sacrificial fire, dance around it and throw rune catalysts into it. They celebrate day and night and call it the Festival of Fire.
